World Health Service (WHS) exists to accelerate global health equity by scaling preventive, community-based healthcare models that improve health outcomes, strengthen health systems, and create sustainable economic growth.

Health systems worldwide are under unprecedented pressure. While healthcare delivers life-saving treatment, it cannot solve today’s health challenges alone.

Prevention, social prescribing, workforce wellbeing, healthy ageing, and climate-resilient health require new blended capital vehicles that can operate across public, private, and philanthropic sectors.

Traditional funding models are often short-term, siloed, and treatment-focused — leaving proven local solutions unable to scale.

WHS was created to close this gap.

The World Health Innovation Summit (WHIS) was founded in 2015 by Gareth Presch to support the NHS and global health systems by attracting talent, ideas, and investment into health and wellbeing.

The first WHIS event reached over 20 million people globally, revealing the platform’s potential to move beyond dialogue into action. This led to the creation of WHIS Programmes, including:

• WHISKids – children’s mental health & wellbeing
• WHIS@Work – workforce wellbeing & burnout prevention
• WHISSeniors – healthy ageing, loneliness & falls prevention

By 2018, WHIS had demonstrated measurable improvements in health outcomes and economic growth.

During COVID-19, WHIS co-founded the Global Social Prescribing Alliance with the World Health Organizationand 25+ country partners, producing the Global Social Prescribing Playbook and supporting national-scale adoption of prevention models.

During this period, Gareth Presch also served on Pope Francis’s Vatican COVID-19 Commission (Group 2: Looking to the Future), contributing to global strategies on health equity and resilience.

World Health Service (WHS) is the financial and governance vehicle that turns innovation into implementation.

Through Fiscal Sponsorship (FSP) and Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) structures, WHS enables investors, philanthropists, and institutions to:
