About Prof. Sofia Scataglini

• Academic & Professional Leadership: Prof. Scataglini is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Antwerp and serves as the International Coordinator of the Center for Health and Technology (CHaT).
• Pioneering Expertise: A Biomedical Engineer and certified European Ergonomist (Eur.Erg.), her work focuses on Digital Human Modelling (DHM) and wearable technologies applied to ergonomics, healthcare, and well-being.
• Global Impact & Advocacy: She chairs the Technical Committee on Digital Human Modeling and Simulation at the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) and founded the Digital Human Modeling by Women (DHMW) initiative to advance women’s participation in STEAM globally.
• Award-Winning Contributions: Recipient of the Premio del Presidente della Regione Marche and the Most Innovative Research Award at the 8th Digital Human Modelling Symposium for her research in biomechanics and 4D scanning technologies.
