WHISKids - Community Health in Action: How WHIS is Transforming Wellbeing

At the heart of every thriving community is a network of people who share knowledge, collaborate, and support one another. The World Health Innovation Summit (WHIS) exemplifies this principle, turning ideas into action and fostering real change in health and wellbeing—both locally and globally.

Recent feedback from WHIS participants highlights the impact:

  • 67% of professionals reported an improved professional network

  • 63% gained better access to innovative ideas

  • 53% developed a more positive professional outlook

  • 52% expanded their general professional knowledge

  • 48% felt less professionally isolated These numbers are more than statistics—they represent real people, learning, connecting, and growing together. Dr. Laura Hipple of NHS Cumbria praised WHIS as “an international exchange of ideas, enthusiasm, best practice, and shared values, right on our own doorstep!”

But the impact isn’t just professional. WHISkids programs have helped children learn emotional awareness and teamwork: “I can control my emotions!” said one nine-year-old, while another child remarked, “We work together!”

Gareth Presch, founder of WHIS, emphasizes the broader mission:

“Community health isn’t just about medical care—it’s about creating networks, sharing knowledge, and empowering people at every level to improve their wellbeing. WHIS shows that when professionals, children, and communities collaborate, everyone benefits.”

WHIS is more than a summit—it’s a movement. By connecting professionals, inspiring children, and strengthening local and global health networks, WHIS is proving that community health in action can transform lives, spark innovation, and build a healthier future for all.
