The Global Social Prescribing Alliance (GSPA) is proud to announce the official launch of the GSPA Student Movement — a global initiative designed to empower students and future healthcare professionals to lead meaningful change in health and wellbeing through social prescribing and personalised care.
This marks an important milestone in building the future global workforce equipped to prevent disease, strengthen communities, and transform health systems.

Chair – Gareth Presch
Gareth Presch is the CEO and Founder of the World Health Innovation Summit and a recognised thought leader in health system design worldwide. For over 25 years, he has pioneered new models of healthcare focused on prevention, innovation, and community wellbeing.
He is also CEO of the Global Social Prescribing Alliance, a member of Pope Francis’s Vatican COVID-19 Commission, and former Chief Officer of the National Haemophilia Council.
Gareth continues to advocate for workforce transformation, prevention-focused care, and global collaboration to address health inequalities.

Vice Chair (Portugal) – Bernardo (Luís) Mendonça Flôr Rodrigues
Born in Portugal and currently based between Portugal and Spain, Bernardo brings international experience across:
- Leadership and Healthcare Management
- Biomedical Research
- Social and Humanitarian Medicine
- Medical Training and Education His work focuses on Global Health, Health Diplomacy, and Ageing. Beyond his professional interests, he is passionate about History and Literature — bringing a valuable humanistic perspective to the future of healthcare leadership.
