Welcoming Ushma Issar Global Lead, Volunteer Engagement
We are delighted to welcome Ushma Issar as our new Global Lead, Volunteer Engagement for the World Health Innovation Summit (WHIS).
Ushma is the CEO and Co-Founder of Rypple, a global purpose-led business focused on shifting health systems from disease treatment to a proactive, health-ing mindset. With over 10 years of experience in the global medical device industry, Ushma now works at the intersection of policy, finance, and innovation to make prevention investable and scalable.
Through Rypple’s work with governments, multilaterals, and industry partners, she supports the design of fiscal and policy levers that incentivise early intervention, wellbeing, and systemic resilience. Her leadership directly aligns with our global mission: advancing prevention, empowering communities, and transforming systems.
Ushma’s Focus as Global Lead, Volunteer Engagement
In her voluntary role with WHIS, Ushma will focus on:
- Identifying and onboarding Chapter Leads across countries and regions
- Supporting chapters to articulate key regional health challenges and take meaningful, measurable action
- Anchoring this work around creating asset classes for prevention as a core lever for systemic change This approach ensures that our volunteer network is not only active, but strategic — driving policy, investment, and community-level impact in alignment with our global vision.
