Next week, the World Health Innovation Summit (WHIS) Italia will be providing a significant progress update during the III° SMIPS Public Seminar on Determinants of Environment, Wellbeing, and Health, organized by S.M.I.P.S. Organizzazione di Volontariato (OdV). The seminar will take place on Saturday, 14 March 2026, from 9:00 to 13:00, at the Complesso del Baraccano, Sala Marco Biagi, Quartiere S. Stefano, Bologna. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will also be streamed live via the SMIPS Facebook group.
About the Seminar (Full Agenda)
SMIPS, a recognized voluntary organization, aims to foster awareness and protection of citizens’ health by addressing environmental, social, and urban determinants of wellbeing. This year’s seminar, held under the theme:
“POLITICA E ISTITUZIONI SI IMPEGNINO A INFORMARE E PROTEGGERE CITTADINE E CITTADINI” will bring together experts, researchers, and institutional representatives to discuss pressing health and environmental challenges.
The seminar is introduced by Margherita Venturi, professor at the Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences, University of Bologna, and Francesco Domenico Capizzi, president of SMIPS. Coordination is led by Marta Bettini, Mauro Biagiotti, and Ildo Tumschitz.

WHIS Italia Update
During the session on urban development and innovation, Maurizio Morini, WHIS Italia’s lead, will share a comprehensive update on the initiative’s progress. Highlights will include:

- Health innovation projects: Launching initiatives that integrate prevention, digital health, and community wellbeing.
