New Year’s Eve Concert 2025 Art as a Prescription for Health

The Portuguese Society for Health Literacy ****(SPLS) is delighted to celebrate the final moments of 2025 with its New Year’s Eve Concert, a unique initiative blending art, community, and health.

This concert is more than a musical performance — it is a vibrant demonstration of how art can contribute to physical, mental, and social well-being. Through music and performance, we witness communities coming alive, reflecting the profound connection between culture, health, and happiness.

Art as Health

At SPLS, we believe that art is a prescription for healthier societies. When communities engage in creative experiences, the ripple effect is tangible: enhanced mental wellness, social cohesion, and non-pharmacological solutions to health challenges. This concert embodies our commitment to social prescribing — simple, accessible steps toward healthier, happier communities.

Gratitude to Our Champions of Health and Culture

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mestre Terapeuta Mariana Fonseca, Vice President of SPLS, for her extraordinary support in creating this harmonious and inspiring event design.

We also recognize the dedication of the many professionals and members who brought SPLS’s vision to life in 2025, including:

  • Nurses: Ana Veiga, Cátia Barreto Encarnado, Ana Sofia Lopes
  • Doctors: Vânia Costa, Rosa de Pinho, Clarry Ndongala
  • Educators & Professors: Inês Veríssimo, Helena Alves Carvalho Sampaio, Sheila Paulino
  • Community Partners: Carlos Filipe, Maria Eugenia Brandulo, Gabriel Ribeiro, Raphaël Baptista, Vânia Lima
  • Municipal Partners: Câmara Municipal de Oeiras, Município Évora

A Partnership for Health Innovation

SPLS continues to partner with WHIS (World Health Innovation Summit) to advance the intersection of culture, health literacy, and social wellbeing. Initiatives like this concert exemplify how arts and community engagement can become powerful tools for preventive and holistic healthcare.

“If through art we can inspire healthier lifestyles, then every professional engaged in health, education, and social initiatives contributes to the prescription of better, non-pharmacological solutions for society,” notes Gareth Presch, CEO of WHIS.

Join Us in Celebration

This New Year’s Eve, we invite everyone to celebrate life, community, and health through music. Let art be the bridge to a more committed, healthy, and happy society.
