David Wortley FRSA is an internationally recognised futurologist, motivational speaker, and disruptive technologies thought leader with over 40 years of experience in developing and implementing technology strategies across multiple sectors.
A serial technology innovator and strategist, David possesses a rare and powerful understanding of how digital communications technologies can drive transformational change and deliver competitive advantage — particularly across health, education, immersive technologies, gamification, serious games, sustainable development, and ageing societies.
He has:
- Delivered keynote addresses at over 100 international conferences
- Published widely in academic and business journals
- Served as an expert adviser, reviewer, rapporteur, Non-Executive Director, and mentor
- Supported UK life sciences and digital health companies in international expansion and collaboration

Career Highlights
David was the Founding Director of the Serious Games Institute (2006–2011) at the Coventry University, where he established its global reputation as a centre of excellence in the emerging serious games and gamification sector. His leadership helped numerous UK SMEs gain international visibility.
For this pioneering work, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
He is also the author of Gadgets to God, reflecting on the societal impact of technology over the past 70 years.
