WHIS CIC UK and ZMQ Global Sign MoU for Global Health Collaboration
London, UK – 4th May 2026
WHIS CIC UK, incorporating the Global Social Prescribing Alliance, and ZMQ Global have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a shared framework to explore collaboration in advancing community health, wellbeing, and sustainable development.
The MoU reflects a mutual interest in identifying opportunities to work together across areas including social prescribing, digital innovation, and community-led approaches particularly in Africa and other Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
This agreement is exploratory and non-binding, enabling both organisations to engage in open dialogue, share knowledge, and assess potential areas of alignment without committing to specific programmes, funding, or formal partnerships at this stage.
Shared Vision and Complementary Strengths
WHIS CIC UK works to advance whole-person health through social prescribing, community engagement, and cross-sector collaboration. ZMQ Global brings extensive experience in developing practical, technology-driven solutions that improve access to essential services in health, education, and livelihoods.
Together, both organisations share a commitment to:
- Community-led and locally driven development
- Scalable and sustainable solutions
- Data-informed and evidence-based approaches
- Cross-sector collaboration across global contexts
Areas for Exploration
Under the MoU, WHIS and ZMQ will explore potential collaboration across several key areas:
- Global Networks and Local Ecosystems: Connecting global expertise with local delivery through WHIS Chapters and partner networks
- Digital Innovation: Co-developing or adapting digital tools to support social prescribing and service access
- Community-Based Initiatives: Identifying pilot programmes across health, education, and livelihoods
- Project Development: Jointly designing and shaping initiatives aligned with shared priorities
- Funding Opportunities: Exploring grants, partnerships, and resource mobilisation on a case-by-case basis
- Research and Impact: Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and evidence-building efforts
- Capacity Building: Supporting training, knowledge exchange, and community empowerment
A Flexible and Future-Focused Approach
All potential activities under the MoU will be subject to feasibility, resource availability, and internal approvals within each organisation. Any future collaboration will be formalised through separate agreements as appropriate.
The MoU will remain in effect for three years from the date of signature and may be terminated by either party at any time with written notice.
